This double bank beat and there might be some season tickets holders fishing on the same day. (3)Max.
It also has the potential to be an outstanding brown trout and grayling fishery and will fish well over 5lb and 3lb respectively known to be present.
Wading is relatively straightforward as the river bed is primarily gravel and the curents are not too strong. As the fishing is set amongst pastoral land the access to the water is generally very good though care should be taken on some banks that are quite steep.
Traditionally this beat has been fished by spinning, worm and fly and depending on the height of the water this will continue, although when the water is at a low to medium height, it offers fantastic potential to the fly angler. Grayling & brown trout tickets are fly only.
The catch returns are probably not very accurate for this beat as the fishing pressure has been light in the past .
Off road parking is available in nearby Shillahill Farm Steading, next to Shillahill Bridge.
A shed has been made available at the car parking area for use by the fishermen.
