Five minutes walk from Capheaton Village is Sir Edwards Lake. Built by Sir Edward Swinburne in 1750 the Lake offers outstanding Brown Trout fishing. Private fishing for two rods from the boat.
Each guest is shown the Lake by either Willy Browne-Swinburne or another member of the team. Initially it is important that you are shown how the boat is accessed and to provide you with keys and any other guidance you may require.

Why you need to fish here
Sir Edward's Lake has never been let in any commercial way since it was created in 1750. Apart from being unutterably beautiful it offers still water Brown Trout fishing of the highest quality. Until now fishing has only been enjoyed by family and close friends. This experiment, which offers the opportunity to fish to a wider audience, will last as long as those who take it; appreciate it.
