Haughton Castle is a very attractive beat opposite Chipchase, Barrasford and Chollerton. The fishing is influenced by Kielder releases and has the Riverhill level gauge on the famous Long Rack Pool.
A considerable number of sea trout are caught around late June and through July. Haughton Castle fishes well in July and August when there is water and has a fine run of Autumn fish, as does all the North Tyne. 2 rods are available for letting each day. Beats alternate at 1.30pm.
Please note that there is some difficult wading on Haughton Castle beat.
