The River Ness hosts one of the most productive summer and autumn runs of salmon in the North of Scotland with fresh fish being caught up to the last day of the season, October 15th. Ness Castle Fishing, is arguably one of the most productive salmon beats on the River Ness. It boasts over a mile of double bank salmon fishing, and has some of the finest fly water, with pools such as the famous Black Stream, Lady Pool and The Laggan. Nesscastle has 5 star facilities, with a large, fully equipped fishing hut. Fresh fish run throughout the year. However, the most productive period is from early July until the season ends in October.
The beat offers superb fly fishing and the majority of fish are so taken. The Silver Stoat, Yellow Ally and Cascade are popular and effective patterns.
