Set in beautiful surroundings and less than 15 minutes from Gatehouse of Fleet or Kirkcudbright is the Lochenbreck Loch.
This scenic lowland Loch is surrounded by countryside and offers some fantastic fishing. Situated at DG7 2PY, the loch can be accessed just outside of Laurieston off a small forestry track (signposted Lochenbreck Loch). There is parking just 100 yards up the road.
The Loch can then be found across two fields through the swing gate (please ensure all gates are closed behind you).
Lochenbreck Loch is stocked monthly with rainbow trout and although there is limited bank fishing this loch is a fantastic place for a spot of boat fishing. Rainbow trout of more than 2lbs are regularly caught but there are rainbow trout of 5-10lbs being caught too. Fished from both the banks and boats, Lochenbreck Loch is fly fishing only. There is a bag limit of the first four fish caught and after you may continue to fish but must release all fish caught and use Barbless hooks. Juniors (under 16 years old) are welcome but must be accompanied by an experienced adult.
