The EA have brought in 100% catch and release on the Border Esk for Salmon from 2018 but 4 Sea Trout can be kept in a season.
You will need a fishing rod licence because you're on the English part of the river on our beat.
Your day ticket is from 6 am the day you have booked until 6am the following morning. If you want to fish earlier please arrange with me.
You are allowed to fish on Sundays as the fishery is on the English side.
Access is available by car along the riverbank on the full stretch.
Sea Trout from 1st April to 30th September no more than 2 sea trout on 1 day may be killed. From 10th September to 30th September all female sea trout must be returned. After 30th no sea trout can be kept.
All cars parked on the riverbank are parked at the owners risk. Sometimes cattle like to come along and have a lick!
Please close gates behind you
Fly, Shrimp, Worm and Spinner can be used.
Although I know not many of you actually keep a fish as we were more or less catch and release on our beat already, all I ask is for you to let me know what's been caught (whatever size) so I have some idea how the river is fishing.
