The Holder shall not fish for, nor attempt to take any fish by any means of lure other than the Fly, except that worming with fixed spool real is allowed in flood water only.
Spinning IS allowed on the Castle Milk Water. SPINNING IS NOT ALLOWED ON THE ST. MUNGO'S PARISH WATER OF THE RIVER ANNAN. Fishing with maggots is prohibited.
The licence is not transferable and must be shown on demand. It must be returned at its expiry, together with a record of fish taken during the Season, otherwise no further licence will be issued to the party holding it. The Licence will be forfeited should the Holder be found with any Fry or Parr in their possession, or should they refuse to showe their basket, and every fish under 10 inches in length caught must be immediately returned to the water.
Any Angler found annoying another will be warned off the river and not allowed to fish again.
From 1st October, the Holder of a permit to fish St. Mungo's Parish Water must fish with fly only. In all fly fishing no swivel or weight, of any kind shall be used.
Bottles and waste paper must on no account be left on the banks or thrown into the River. No fires may be lit. Dogs must not be taken to the River.
Boats for fishing, or for any other purpose are strictly prohibited.
SUNDAY FISHING IS PROHIBITED.
Set line (ledgering) is strictly prohibited.
Any Angler infringing the above conditions will be warned off the River.
ANGLERS ARE REQUESTED TO OBSERVE RIVER ETIQUETTE BY FISHING THROUGH EACH POOL WITHOUT UNDUE DELAY, AND BY NOT COMMENCING FISHING IN FRONT OF ANOTHER ANGLER WHO IS ALREADY FISHING THE POOL.
Anglers acknowledge that they fish at their own risk and the proprietors accept no liability for accidents or losses sustained by anglers whilst fishing In the interests of good sport, any harassment by other anglers should be reported to the Castle Milk Estate Office. NB The Brocklerigg Water and the Royal Four Towns Water is excluded from the Castle Milk Water.
