Forres Angling Association manages the salmon and sea trout fishing on some four miles of the lower River Findhorn, extending from the upstream limit at Red Craig down to the Sea Pool, where the river enters Findhorn Bay.
Fresh fish can be caught from the opening day of the season on 11th February, right through to the end of September, with grilse featuring more regularly in catches from June onwards. Prime time for spring fish are the months of March and April where MSW salmon are common.
There are a great variety of pools, some classic holding pools that hold fish through out the season, with several glides and runs in between. Sea trout are caught from mid April onwards.
From May 1st fishing is by FLY ONLY.
