Upper Craig Beat Rules & Conditions
1. All Anglers must be in procession of a valid permit. These can be issued by Fishpal or the proprietor.
Day permits £40
limited season permits available ( contact proprietor)
2 . Season runs from 11th February until 31st October . Daily maximum of 6 Rods.
3, Day permit allow dawn to dusk fishing.
4 , Please contact Bailiff prior to arrival at the Beat . If possible contact the evening before or morning of arrival. Notify of your expected arrival time, type of vehicle, colour and registration number. You may wish to arrange a meet up point. ( usually the Catnish parking area) Bailiff Ewan Maclellen
5, Dependant upon water conditions and rod numbers/requirements there may be a rotation arrangement imposed, alternating between the upper and lower beat on a half daily basis.
5. Pools are fished in rotation, starting at the top and gradually moving downstream. Do not enter a pool downstream of fellow anglers.
6. Permits are not transferable and sharing Rods is not allowed.
7. All salmon/sea trout caught must be reported to Jennifer Lang who is legally responsible for maintaining the fishing records. All catches must be recorded. Please either telephone or text
8. The Awe District River Improvement Association has undertaken a conservation initiative, and it is a condition of the let that you abide by the River’s catch and release code. All angler’s must have a net to land fish.
9. Any legal method is permitted (fly fishing, spinning and worm fishing), subject to the restrictions in place (see above). PLEASE NOTE: shrimp and prawn fishing are prohibited, as is the use natural minnow, a gaff, fixed rods and set lines.
10.Please do not drop litter , take it home with home .
11. Follow the Country Code, particularly in relation to dogs, risk of fire and gates.
12. Be considerate to fellow Anglers.
13. It is not permitted to sublet your permit
14.The proprietors are not bound to refund any permits paid in the event of cancellation for whatever reason.
15 The proprietors will accept no liability whatever for damage, injury or loss to the persons or belongings of the tenant, or those in his party, from whatever cause arising, nor can they be held in any way responsible for adverse weather conditions or acts of God.
Rivers , water , slippery rocks can be hazardous, you are responsible for your own safety.
