The Upper Craig Beat ,River Orchy

The river is a very pleasant 1 hour drive north of Glasgow or Edinburgh. The river Orchy arises from loch Tulla ,flowing through  Glen Orchy and meanders near

by the village of Dalmally before emptying into loch Awe . The river is easily accessible  by following the picturesque B8074 , a single track road from either end of the Glen Orchy.

The access to the top end of the Glen is via the B8074 at the junction with the A82 at Bridge of Orchy . The top end of the upper Craig beat starts at The Boat pool  ( approximately 3 miles from road junction between A82 and the B8074) The beat ends at Little Colonels .
