Gallery Fishing's is one of the most productive beats on the North Esk and offers delightful fly water.
The beat has benefited from the buyout of all the netting rights on the North Esk. There are NO NETS remaining now on the North Esk. The past 5 year average is 96 salmon and 30 sea trout which is a good return for a 3/4 rod beat.
Access is easy with well-maintained banks, which also show a profusion of wild flowers in season.
Wading is very easy from right bank.
Fishing is FLY ONLY. The beat follows the EDSFB recommendations for 100% catch and release throughout the season.
The beat offers good prospects throughout the season, with the spring fishing starting in February, its not uncommon for spring fish to be caught on opening day. The North Esk has a fish counter and recently the big runs of fish have been appearing in June and July. Sea trout fishing has not been utilized and could show great potential with dedicated night fishing. Season 2023 was the best on record for sea trout with 78 up to 6lbs in weight recorded.
