A good week for Eden lacy this week landing 3fish, one last Sunday from the Dale Raphen pool and another 2 from the Meadow Pool caught on Tuesday, the fish weight 10,8 and 6lb.

Looking forward to the week ahead the river is currently 3’7ft and dropping away nicely, visability at 2ft and with not much rain forecast it should be another good week conditions wise with it mainly over cast and air temp in the mid teens, only 9 days left of the season and it’s looking a perfect time to swing a fly.

Tactics wise I’d be using anything and everything, full float/intermediate tips with cascades and francis but if nothing showing or taking go down deep and something red.

I’d suggest 15/18lb tippet to be used as this is the time to big Eden crocs make there self known. Net the fish as quick as possible and get them back with minimal handling.

Tight lines

We at FishPal would like to thank Terence McDonnell for his regular reports, he is a farmer who started fishing for trout as a young boy. The late Victor Gubbins, Eden Lacy beat, introduced him to salmon fishing a few years ago along with Andrew Jackson, and since then he has been passionate about it. Working on the land near the Eden, Terence is never far away from the river as we thank him for his reports.
