Overview

Wolf (Beats 6a, 6b): The Wolf is a small river, averaging 5m in width and requires close range tactics to fool its resident trout and Grayling. Most of the water is suited to dry and duo fishing, however there’s some deeper pools that respond extremely well to a tungsten nymph fished euro style. Fishing the beat slowly is very much the key to success here, and anglers will do well to wait a few moments after entering a pool to make their first cast. The average stamp of fish here is between 6-10”, however several much larger specimens have been observed too. During the summer, the river wolf receives compensation flow from Roadford Reservoir, this excess water can make the wolf fish extremely well during periods of low rainfall.
