Overview

The Ruel is a classic West Coast spate river. From the place where it is joined by the Garvie Burn below the ruins of Dunans Castle, it is fishable for about 12 miles as it flows through Glendaruel and into Loch Riddon.

Fishing is fly only and on a catch and release basis.

Whilst the season runs from 1st May until 31st October, migratory fish seldom arrive before the end of June.
