Overview

Set on the iconic Lower River Bann in Northern Ireland, Carnroe Fishery is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s premier salmon beats, offering an exceptional angling experience in a truly distinctive setting. Located at the first weir on the river, the fishery benefits from highly oxygenated tailwater where migrating salmon are known to hold on their upstream journey—creating consistently exciting sporting opportunities throughout the season. The combination of natural river structure and controlled flows delivers a varied and rewarding fishery, suited to both experienced anglers and those seeking a memorable guided day on the water.

With exclusive daily access limited to a small number of rods, Carnroe offers a personalised and well-managed fishing experience, supported by resident guides and full facilities. Anglers can expect a carefully stewarded fishery built on sustainable principles, including a full catch-and-release policy, ensuring the long-term health of this renowned salmon river. Whether casting a fly across the classic pools below the weir or exploring the beat by boat, Carnroe delivers a unique opportunity to fish one of the most celebrated stretches of the Lower Bann in a setting defined by heritage, quality, and attentive management.

The Honourable The Irish Society has exclusive visitor rods available each day which may be booked on the Availability link.
