Visión general

Ryehill Fishing is a quiet and idyllic beat stretching 3/4 mile of single bank fishing, stretching a mile or so south of Sanquhar. It comprises 5 pools and 2 shelf pools and is suitable for fly, worm, or spinning.

Shelter on the beat is provided by two fishing lodges. The main lodge is often considered to be the best on the River Nith and is is furnished with a 3 piece suite, table and stools with outdoor seating.

Vehicular access to the river is via a road through the field to a car compound, which is situated next to the main lodge. Customers are encouraged to use the pound as the resident Highland Cattle may see cars as good scratching posts. Pedestrian access to the river is excellent with stiles and steps along the length of the beat. This makes it suitable for all ages. The river is fenced off from the livestock to avoid them trying to help you fish.
