West Grange

Fishery

The West Grange Fishings of the River Ericht span over five miles on the lower part of this excellent, under-rated salmon river which is only about ten miles in overall length.

An average run of approximately 10,000 salmon per annum has been recorded by the fish counter within this fishery between 1992 - 2012 when it was removed.

A mixture of double and single bank will offer guests of West Grange Fishings the opportunity to fish classic fly water containing glides, runs and deeper holding pools with the assistance and direction of the fishery manager.

An excellent well equipped fishing bothy is available for the exclusive use of guests.

A 13 ft double handed fly rod will cover most situations equipped with a selection of different density lines/tips. A single handed rod is advantageous in lower flows.

Wading is mostly easy where necessary.

Why you need to fish here

The river Ericht has long been regarded as the most prolific system within the Tay catchment area. Sea liced fresh salmon can be encountered from February to October. Fly Fishing only.
