Islamouth Letting Conditions
In the event of the tenant being unwilling or unable to fish the tenant is still liable for the full rent plus VAT (if applicable) and the agent reserves the right to recover all monies due, plus any further expenses incurred, from the original tenant. The proprietors shall not be bound to refund any rents paid in the event of cancellation for whatever reason.
The Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board Catch and Release Recommendations are mandatory on Islamouth.
A tenant may not sub-let the beat, if a tenant so sub-lets all fishing will be forfeit and cancelled without further discussion or refund.
The agent and proprietors let the rights of fishing only, and do not accept responsibility for the natural hazard and adverse climatic conditions out with their control affecting the catching of salmon.
The proprietors accept no responsibility for loss or damage to tenants or his party's property from whatever cause arising nor for any injury to the tenant or any member of the fishing party. In the interests of safety, no alcohol should be offered or given to the ghillies during the fishing period.
Life jackets must be worn at all times. Tenants who do not wear life jackets do so entirely at their own risk.
Clients and guests are advised to wear and use their own personal protective equipment where appropriate. This should include chest waders, eye protection, wading stick and appropriate clothing.
The lead named tenant is responsible for the fishing party at all times when fishing. Should the lead tenant not be present at any time a person must be nominated to take charge of the party.
The insurance cover in the fishing huts does not extend to the property of tenants. If you wish to leave your belongings it is at your own risk, and you are advised to ensure that you have adequate insurance cover for sports and other items when travelling. Clients are strongly advised to take out a Public Liability Policy, covering themselves and their guests, for not less than £5,000,000.
The rent includes the services of two ghillies and two boats, shared among the let rods. The ghillies will be in attendance during the normal hours of fishing from 9.00 hours to 17.00 hours with a lunch break from 1.00pm - 2.00pm.
Bank fishing only is permitted out with the normal hours of fishing and only with the prior agreement of the ghillies. Only those rods who fished during the day are permitted to fish on in the evening.
No fishing is permitted beyond 8pm on a Wednesday evening.
Any catches during these times must be reported to the ghillies.
Rod sharing is not permitted except in exceptional circumstances and only with the prior approval of the proprietors.
The tenant is not permitted to hire or engage any additional guides, ghillies or boats other than those provided by the proprietor.
In the interests of safety, the ghillie's decision on when it is not safe to take the boat out is final. Should any other dispute arise between the tenant and the ghillie, the agent must be informed as soon as possible and certainly before the expiry of the let.
Whilst dogs are welcome on the beat they must be kept under close control at all times and dogs are not allowed on the right (far) bank. Rods must clean up after their dogs.
Tenants who bring glass bottles to the fishing must remove these at the end of fishing.
There is a mandatory catch and release policy in place whereby all fish must be returned to and including 31 March. In addition, as a condition of let, the proprietors require that in addition ALL FISH MUST BE RETURNED UP TO 31 MAY.
All salmon and sea trout caught during the let remain the property of the tenant and a true record of catches shall be given to the boatmen.
No angler shall use a gaff or tailer.
All landing nets must be knotless.
There is no fishing allowed on Sundays.
It is illegal to intentionally foul hook fish.
On Islamouth fishing with prawns, shrimps, worms or any other natural bait, or any parts thereof, is prohibited at all times.
When water levels drop below the line on the gauge post, fishing will be restricted to fly only. Ghillies will advise.
