The Findynate Beat comprises of three pools offering a mix of streamy fly water and deeper spinning water. The main pool (Findynate) is 300yrds long and the first holding pool after the Grandtully rapids. In 2015 it produced springers of 32 & 28lbs. It will fish from either bank with fly or spinner even in high water. Big Stone is a smaller pool which is a delight to fly fish in medium & lower water. The Fiddle also offers varied fly water at most heights.
Cloichfoldich also has three pools with equally good fly water. The main one (Cloichfoldich) is about 200yrds and will fish with fly or spinner at most heights. The Pot is a smaller pool but again will fish at most heights while the Craggan offers an excellent cast with the fly in medium & lower levels. In lower water this run extends to form the Lower Craggan.
There are no time restrictions on either Beat with morning & evening fishing encouraged when the light allows. A Ghillie may be available with prior notice however you will be shown your Beat on arrival and given suitable advice for the conditions. Both Beats are accessible by car with basic lunch huts.
1/2 mile double bank Beats (Findynate & Cloichfoldich) fished on alternate days.
Both offer attractive fly water in most water conditions and are capable of producing fish throughout the season, many still with sea lice.
