Overview

Flodabay Loch Fishings provide sea trout and wild brown trout fishing with the chance of an occasional salmon in one system. There are boats on some of the named lochs.

The table below shows the catches for the Flodabay system on its own. However it also forms a part of the Finsbay system and the statistics for the whole of the 100 Loch Fishings which comprise Finsbay Flodabay and Stockinish are available separately under the Finsbay page on the site

The Flodabay Fishings consist of in the region of 35 lochs, both large and small, and with two separate tributaries to the sea. Most of these lochs can be reached on foot in less than 10 minutes. The furthermost of the lochs is approximately 45 minutes walk, but is not part of the daily rotation system. Included in the Flodabay system are Loch Cairistiona together with a group of five other small lochs plus Loch Braigh, Loch Dubha 1 and Loch Dubha 2

Flodabay and Stockinish are rarely fished as it is usually the case that people buy a ticket for the whole 100 Lochs system and tend to fish Finsbay first, not getting round to Flodabay or Stockinish - hence the low catch tally at present.

Accommodation is available. The Fishery have three lodges which sit at the entrance to the site of the old Finsbay Lodge beside the hut on the Finsbay system. Each has three bedrooms, open plan sitting room with dining area/kitchen. One has a conservatory overlooking the river estuary into the Haumabhat system sea pool. All have disabled access and a downstairs bedroom and wet room as well as two bedrooms upstairs one of which is en-suite and a further family bathroom.
