These rules apply to all fishing tenants and their guests/visitors. They may be changed or added to by Kincardine Estate at any time.
1. Prior to fishing you must ensure that your fishing equipment has been disinfected since its last use. Disinfectant and cleaning materials are available in the main fishing hut.
2. Fishing must be carried out in a sportsmanlike manner using legal methods. Fishing at Kincardine is by fly only. Spinning is not permitted. Treble hooks are forbidden. All hooks should be barbless or crimped.
3. All fish caught are to be released back into the river. They should be played firmly, netted in a knotless net, the hook removed swiftly and released carefully as explained in the method leaflet in the fishing hut. Under no circumstances drag them onto sand, gravel or stones. The aim is to release the fish undamaged.
4. No more than 2 rods are to be fished on the beat unless agreed with the Estate Office (max 3).
5. Rods may not be shared without prior permission from the Estate Office. If permitted, sharing rods must not fish harder than a fit single person.
6. The rods fished will rotate at 1300hrs daily. If someone opposite is fishing a pool, enter 50 yards upstream (behind) them. When fishing you should progress steadily downstream taking a few paces per cast. Monopolizing a pool is not permitted.
7. Disputes with other fishers, members of the public, and other river users should be approached in a friendly, sportsmanlike manner with the objective of achieving compromise between parties. If irresolvable, contact the Estate Office whose decision on a resolution will be final.
8. All fish caught should be entered, in clear handwriting, into the record book in the fishing hut. If, for whatever reason, you cannot do this you must advise the Estate Office as soon as possible afterwards.
9. You may fish into the night but please take particular care if you do so. You should inform someone of your plans, whereabouts, and expected return time.
10. You must read, understand, and act on the Health and Safety Guidance provided.
11. You must follow any instructions given by Estate representatives.
12. Only park vehicles in the designated parking spaces, and don’t block the tracks. Do not let vehicles stray into the fields or down on to the riverbank. Vehicles are parked at the owners own risk.
13. Dogs are welcome on the beat but must be kept under close control at all times and not allowed to dig in the bank. You must clean up any fouling left by your dogs.
14. The fishing huts should be left in a secure, clean and tidy state with dishes washed, rubbish removed, and the fire extinguished safely. The key should be returned to the key safe on departure. You should inform the Estate Office of any breakages or maintenance issues.
15. All rods are required to hold suitable third-party insurance cover to indemnify them in the event of any competent claim being made against them during their period of fishing.
16. All tenants and guests should observe the Scottish Outdoor Access Code at all times. See www.outdooraccess-scotland.scot for full details. No fires should be lit on the ground outside (including disposable BBQs), no litter should be left and all gates should be closed (and locked) as applicable.
17. All tenants and guests fish entirely at their own risk and acknowledge that neither Kincardine Estate, their staff, agents or employees will be liable for any loss or damage occasioned by or to the tenants or their guests or their property. These notes form part of the terms and conditions of your booking.
18. Booking a single rod: 1) You are expected to share the fishing and the fishing hut with other guests 2) You do not have exclusive use of either fishing hut 3) The fishing huts cannot be booked separately 4) Inviting large groups to join you to use the fishing hut is prohibited.
