The Brocklerigg fishings are set amongst attractive woodland and pastoral land. It offers single bank fly water for four anglers with a number of swiftly flowing rocky pools, which hold good numbers of sea trout from May and salmon from the middle of August.
This beat has only been let on a commercial basis since 2006 and was historically held as private fishing by Castlemilk Estates or let out to an exclusive syndicate.
As a result reliable catch figures are not available as the fishing effort has always been very very low.
It is expected that this beat will quickly gain a reputation as one of the better beats on the river as it certainly has the potential. Extensive pruning has dramatically improved the fishing availability for 2007.
