The Stornoway Angling Association had their annual trout fishing competition on Obbe Fishery’s loch Langabhat in South Harris on Saturday 27th April.

Finsbay Fishing like everywhere else suffered from a very wet, windy and cold April.

Brodie MacKinnon kicked things off for their season with a nice trout on the 1st of the month.

The Morris group had a desperate week weather wise early in April, and were mostly bank fishing but did get out for a couple of days in a boat with some success.

Total for April was 15 brownies and a 2lb sea trout with the winds playing havoc with the flies.

May has started well with visitors getting 15 trout on their one day last week and Messrs Cowan & McGrath arriving last Saturday afternoon for their annual trip couldn’t wait to get out and had 6 trout of around 1lb and a small sea trout on Saturday evening.
