Over 100,000 rod/days to choose from!
There are four famous beats just below the hydraulic dam at Bru. The beat names are Hraun, Stadartorfa, Mulatorfa and Presthvammur. All these beats offer great dry fly fishing, a lot of space to move around and explore, diversity in water and pools, beautiful mountain and country scenery along with amazing birdlife.
The average catch for the 8 rods in the short three summer months is approximately 1,000 brown trout and some char as well at the Presthvammur beat. A common weight is 2-4 pounds and not uncommon to catch 6-8 pounders and trout as big as 10 pounds have occasionally been caught.
There are several options in accommodation in the nearby farms and they offer sleeping bag bedrooms or with madeup linen beds, breakfast, lunch, lunch packs and dinner, if requested.

The Hraun beat operates the 'whole day' fishing policy which means the fishing starts at 07:00 in the morning and terminates at 22:00 in the evening. However, the fishing hours are a maximum 6 hours in the morning and 6 hours in the afternoon.
The maximum number of rods allowed to fish at the Hraun beat any one time are three (3). It is quite common in Iceland for 2 fishermen to share one rod.
The Hraun beat has a full catch and release policy on all trout and the occasional salmon.
