The Dormont Beat lies in one of the most attractive parts of Mid-Annandale. It is mostly single bank fishing which is reasonably accessible and offers fishing for 2-3 anglers with access to 6 pools. In addition to Salmon, anglers will encounter a variety of other species.

Much of the banking is wooded so fly fishing is best carried out from the river using waders and a floatation device for anglers safety.
