Knockquhassen Reservoir

Knockquhassen Reservoir is a wonderfully sprawling 37 acres reservoir which is made up of a mixture of shallow and deep troughs, just 15 minutes from Stranraer. Situated at NX0188 5940 the reservoir can be accessed with care down a single track road (note the last 100 yards can be a bit rough). The water is stocked with hard fighting rainbow trout and although not the easiest of fishing, it is well worth the effort.
