Glen Tanar Estate - Waterside & Ferrar Beat
Waterside & Ferrar has 6.4 kilometres (4 miles) of magnificent fly-fishing, from 13 named pools of double-banked fishing on the River Dee. Double-banked fishing is available to all fishers throughout the spring season.
The Spring fishing season starts on the 1st of March and runs until the 30th of June 2024. During the Spring 4 rods can fish the beat. The beat is being offered for let, inclusive of limited Ghillie Services of an hour each morning, from the 22nd of April to the 30th of June.
There are 3 fishing huts on the beat spread across both banks. Access to the beat is by car along tracks to most of the beat. There are also paths along the riverside on both banks that allow access to all parts of the beat on foot.
The beat is predominantly fly fishing. All hooks should be barbless, or the barbs crimped. Treble hooks are not permitted. Spinning is permitted on Waterside & Ferrar from 01/03/24 up to the15/04/24, in line with the Dee Conservation Code.
