Actually it's our busiest time of the year, as anglers look to sort out their 2021 fishing trips and owners add availability. Tweed, Dee, Tay are extremely busy at the moment with anglers searching for 2021 availability on their favourite beats. If you are an owner and have not added your fishing yet please get in touch so we can manage customers expectations.

For anglers in search of winter grayling day and season permits, we have been adding more onto the site. Permits were added yesterday for Crieff Angling Club, read more about their water in this weeks newsletter.

ITV All Around Britain

Bemersyde at FishPal
Lady Haig and Sarah Anderson interviewed for All Around Britain.

ITV Border Life and All Around Britain filmed a fishing feature on the River Tweed in October, which is being broadcast this Sunday morning on ITV at 11.20am.

Lori Carnochan caught up with anglers and FishPal on Bemersyde beat to find out why fishing has been booming during the pandemic. The Tweed Foundation updated her on how the fish are fairing in the river when she joined them electrofishing in the upper catchment.

Grayling Permits Crieff

Crieff Angling Club offer some excellent fishing on the River Earn, amongst the beautiful Strathearn scenery, rich in wildlife. The Earn is smaller than the River Tay and
is a very manageable size. The river varies in speed throughout its length and can offer a delightful mix of water for grayling - read more.

Permits are available on the Drummond Castle water which starts at the bridge in Crieff and runs downstream for 2.7 miles. River access is principally limited to the south bank and mainly requires the use of thigh waders for fly fishing. Six grayling permits are available until mid January - find fishing.

Dryburgh Upper

Dyryburgh Upper 2021 availability now online.

Upper Dryburgh is overlooked by the famous 'Scots View' and Wallace Statue in a glorious and secluded setting downstream of Bemersyde. The one mile of double bank fishing is highly productive and has seven named pools holding fish through spring, summer and autumn and with a pool to suit all water levels. There is a well equipped and easily accessed hut next to Dryburgh Mains - read more.

The beat was fished from June this year and catches have exceeded their 5 year average for both salmon and sea trout. Permits for the 2021 season have now been added online.

Anglers looking for accommodation near by, you will find Dryburgh Abbey Hotel nestled on the banks of Tweed next to the beat. Just a short drive away is Whitehouse Country House B&B, a 19th century Dower House built for the Duchess of Sutherland and Bemersyde House which dates from 1535 and now offers luxurious holiday accommodation. Places to stay River Tweed.
