Many of you are seizing the opportunity to get away and cast a line this month.

The River Nith continues to fish well with most beats getting sport. Most anglers I have spoken to have had good catches and some fishers have caught their first salmon. There's also been a big salmon for Dumfries Burgh - read more.

Upper North Wark Beat is now open. Anglers caught 8 fish on the fly on Saturday.

River Findhorn are having an absolute cracking run of fish right now, many grilse and some really fantastic big Summer salmon - read more.

Fish Tyne beats reported 83 salmon and 30 sea trout last week, the biggest salmon at 20lb was caught on Warden Fishing.
This week so far Styford have reported the largest fish, a 15lbr caught on Monday - latest catches.

The River Annan continues to fish well with 43 salmon and 19 sea trout last week, the biggest at 19lbs caught on Hoddom beat - latest catches.

Tweed Fishing Museum

Huge spring fish caught on Rutherford Beat in 1922 is now in the museum.

The Tweed Salmon Fishing Museum in Kelso was officially opened by Her Grace the Duchess of Roxburghe and Sir Gareth Edwards last Thursday. The museum documents the history of salmon fishing on Tweed and is a must visit for those fishing Tweed and further afield.

The museum is located in the Town Hall and is open Monday to Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 10am-1pm. Admission is free.

Several beats reported that there were plenty of fish in the pools. Park finished the week on fifteen. Emmanuel Farinoli was back on the Dee and the picked up six of Park's fish, the best of which was 14lb.

Colin Harvey had several fish at Invery & Tilquhillie, and his pal James Jones celebrated his first Dee fish with a 7lbr from Floating Bank. Jim Coates had a memorable Monday when he landed eight fish at Ballogie. Crathie had five - read more.

The Dee salmon fishing season closes on 15th October, for beats below Aboyne Bridge. For beats above Aboyne Bridge, the fishing season finishes on the 30th September - latest availability.

Dee Fishing Course

A place has become available on Gary Scott's Dee course, 17/18/19th September, fishing the famous Monaltrie on the River Dee. The beat has caught eighteen salmon this month. His Spring 2021 course on this beat is fully booked.

Arriving Wednesday evening 16th September. On 17th/18th you will receive tuition from Gary who is an AAPGAI casting instructor and World Spey Casting Champion. Saturday 19th you will also be fishing. The price Includes tuition, fishing, accommodation and food. Please contact Gary on 07734 387775.

Seven hundred and seventy one Salmon and sixty three Sea Trout were landed for the week with the best fish a 26lb Salmon caught on the Birgham Dub beat.

Above Kelso one hundred and seventy four fish were reported, Between Kelso and Coldstream two hundred and eighty seven were reported and below Coldstream three hundred and ten were reported. With the best fishing being at Tillmouth where eighty eight Salmon were landed. Sprouston forty four, Lees thirty eight, Rutherford thirty three and Birgham Dub thirty two also had decent catches for the week - read more.

Tay Fishing Report

First time fishing and Emily Plunkett with one of her two salmon on Stobhall Beat.

Last week the river finished on one hundred and sixty five salmon, with the best fish caught on Islamouth beat at 27lbs. So far this week a fish of 21lbs has been caught on Upper Scone - latest catches.

Salmon were caught across the system from Loch Faskally down to Almondmouth, with the bulk of the catches on beats from Kercock down to Almondmouth. Notable catches included thirty four fish at Waulkmill, Fishponds sixteen, Cargill fifteen and Taymount fourteen - read more.

There should be some nice fresh fish entering the river in the coming weeks and anglers wishing to fish the Tay have until 15th October before it closes. Find fishing.
