Tilquhillie Fishing

1. Fishing will be with fly only. There will be no spinning at any time during the season. 
2. The Tilquhillie owners uphold the Dee Fishery Board Conservation Policy. This can be viewed on the Dee Fishery Board website  https://riverdee.org.uk Fishing is Catch and Release.
3. All tenants & their guests are asked to behave responsibly towards other water users.
4. Periods of fishing will normally be during daylight hours. However, over the summer months more success can be had by fishing early and late. If fishing late torches should be carried at all times. Be aware that a daily let expires at 12 midnight.
5. All tenants and guests to be aware of the dangers of fly hooks. As such eye protection and if possible, a peaked cap should be worn.
6. The Tilquhillie Beat should be fished with a maximum of 2 rods. Only one rod fishing per pool. There may be Crathes Castle fishers on the opposite bank and so please display the normal etiquette of fishing by progressing through a pool moving 3ft after every cast. Anglers must behave in a sporting manner at all times with due consideration to others fishing the river.
7. All tenants are strongly advised to ensure that they and their party use suitable life jackets and take all usual precautions bearing in mind that fishing related activities such as wading & accessing river banks can be dangerous. Tilquhillie Fishing does not provide life jackets or wading sticks. Tenants & guests should bring their own. 
8. The tenant is required to hold suitable third party insurance cover to indemnify both themselves and all their guests against all claims of whatever nature which may arise from the exercise of the let.
9. The tenant and his or her party will be expected to behave in a sporting manner and have due regard and respect for the fishing’s and the property of the Proprietor. Guests are particularly reminded that inappropriate consumption of alcohol can be dangerous in or near a river. 
10. Guests must exercise care and consideration in driving vehicles on Tilquhillie Fishing tracks. Remember the tracks and more likely the road edges can be slippery. The speed limit is a maximum of 15 mph. Please do not drive on or leave vehicles on the grass verges.
11. Fires will not be lit at the riverside or on any of the Tilquhillie Fishing property other than the Tilquhillie Hut stove.
12. Gatherings, parties and loud music are not permitted on the beat as this will disturb fishers on the Crathes beat opposite. 
13. No litter, discarded line or tape should be left on the river banks or surrounding area. Please take your litter home. 
14. All anglers are required to disinfect waders and landing nets prior to fishing to prevent the introduction of Gyrodactylus salaris and other diseases to the Dee. A spray gun located at the fishing bothy will be provided with Virkon solution for this purpose. Further information is available at www.fishdee.co.uk.
15. No ghillie is provided for the Tilquhillie Beat. 
16. Booking a single rod: you are expected to share the fishing and hut with other guests.
