El río Semeil Farm Fishing se extiende aproximadamente 2,4 km en ambas orillas, desde el Puente de Newe, justo debajo de Strathdon, hasta el puente de carretera sobre el río. Continúa otros 400 metros por la orilla norte hasta la presa de Strathdon.
Se puede acceder fácilmente a este encantador tramo de agua; en la mayoría de los lugares solo se requiere una caminata corta para llegar a las piscinas claramente definidas que están sutilmente manejadas para permitir el acceso donde sea necesario sin necesidad de cuidados especiales.
Las pesquerías de Semeil Farm ofrecen una buena variedad de aguas para los pescadores de trucha y salmón, con todo, desde rápidos poco profundos hasta deslizamientos suaves y remolinos profundos que brindan algunas de las mejores aguas de retención en el río superior.
Con condiciones suaves y una primavera húmeda, el salmón puede estar presente en pequeñas cantidades desde finales de mayo, y la mayor parte de los peces llega desde finales de julio hasta el final de la temporada. Las pozas de salmón más productivas son Rumbling Pot, Doctor Pool, The Deskry Pool, Long Pool y Corner Pool, seguidas de New Pool.
La pesca de trucha puede comenzar lentamente después de un invierno frío, pero dadas las condiciones suaves, puede ser excelente desde el primer día, y la mejor pesca se da desde abril hasta mediados de junio, cuando las prolíficas eclosiones de insectos traen truchas hambrientas a la superficie.
Las variadas pozas, rápidos y deslizamientos brindan un hábitat excelente para muchas especies diferentes de insectos; espere ver March Browns, Large Dark Olives, Brook Duns, Olive Uprights, BWOs, Iron Blues y varias especies diferentes de caddis y stonefly; la pesca con mosca seca puede ser espectacular a veces.
Semeil Fishing ofrece pesca de salmón a un precio asequible en aguas de fácil pesca, en una hermosa parte de Escocia, con la posibilidad de ver y quizás atrapar una de las grandes truchas marrones salvajes que pesan más de seis libras.

Owners update:-
The 2010 season was the best for the Semeil farm beat since buying the fishing in 1985. This is partly due to the extra fishing on the beat since the farm entered into the FishPal website.
One angler hooked ten salmon in one day landing nine of these fish the largest fish of these was 16 pounds. This gentleman was also catching fish in parts of the beat that is hardly fished, the high water levels had spread the fish more than usual.
I have noticed over the years that if the fish are there they will take I can always see a salmon move to a well stripped fly in Rumbling Pot also known at the Red Heugh. Its a lovely pool to fish as the fish just appear out of the deep and chase the fly, I once had five fish chase the fly hooking one only to lose as it went deep and went round a old tree trunk. I later dived down and found the pool was 15ft deep and ledged salmon could be seen lying close to these ledges.
