Overview

Ladykirk is a prolific Lower Tweed beat, and it mostly lies within the policies of Ladykirk House, with good access to the main pools through the beautiful parkland. The three mile beat is all single bank, and with fish coming in on the tides, they often lie in the pools awaiting high water. This can provide good sport in low water conditions for both salmon and sea trout.

This is one of the Tweed’s most prolific low water beats and it has done exceptionally well in dry years. Its position next to the tidal waters, often allows large quantities of fish to build up as they are forced to wait for higher water. Ladykirk is best in the early autumn, although it offers very reasonable fishing throughout the year. Primarily a salmon beat, it also has a good run of sea trout.

The beat mostly lies within the policies of Ladykirk House with good access to the main pools through the beautiful parkland. The three mile beat is all single bank, but throughout most of its length, this is the better bank. The former stone netting shiels have been renovated to make excellent fishing huts with up to five boats available.

Anybody giving reasonable notice will be able to book an extra ghillie should he wish to do so. There is an additional charge for this service which is payable on the day.
