Under the control of the Pringles of Torwoodlee since 1489, this is a very attractive and relatively easily accessed stretch of the river - it offers good Upper Tweed fishing at reasonable prices.

The Nest catches most of its fish in the autumn from September on, but sea trout are often to be seen here in July and salmon pass through in small numbers throughout the season.

Under the control of the Pringles of Torwoodlee since 1489, this is a very attractive and relatively easily accessed stretch of the river - it offers good Upper Tweed fishing at reasonable prices.

We have altered our pricing this year to better reflect the changing monthly distribution of fish being caught and to reflect the worries that we all have about the fate of our salmon both in river and at sea.

The Nest catches most of its fish in the autumn but sea trout are often to be seen here in July and salmon pass through in small numbers throughout the season and certainly as early as September.

The beat consists of nearly two and a half kilometres of the left bank with five named pools: Rampy, Boat Pool, House Pool, Policeman and The Gullets. There is a modest but comfortable hut and there are now four main access routes to the river which involve parking on the main road and walking no more than 200 yards. We can fish five rods easily even in low water.

Otters and kingfishers can be seen amongst all the other wildlife to be expected in this wonderfully scenic part of the Scottish Borders. Local accommodation can be found at all levels with Clovenfords Country Hotel being the most popular as it is only five minutes drive from the beat.

Please note that the Estate reserves the right to fish an occasional house rod but only when conditions are suitable.
