This iconic loch, the centre piece of the Trossachs, has been made available to wild trout and pike fishing enthusiasts.
Simon and Carole Cranefield, of the The Pier Tea Room, Stronachlachar, at the west end of Loch Katrine, have taken the bold step to secure the fishing making this fabulous loch available to anglers once more. 6 Coulam 15 boats with electric motors are now available for hire to individuals, groups or clubs, more will follow as demand grows.
Who wouldn’t want to spend some time drifting on these pristine waters fishing the fly for some of the most stunning, hard fighting trout you will ever encounter? Test fishing has produced fish averaging about three quarters of a pound. Using fish finder technology it has been shown that the loch holds a healthy population of fish including pike, ferox and char.
Simon is now taking booking for the loch, clubs are more than welcome. The Tearoom can cater for you whether you want a snack or something more substantial. A place to relax for lunch and plan tactics before you head out to a new destination.
Easy to get to from anywhere in the Central Belt, Loch Katrine is the must fish venue for this year.
