Luncarty is approximately half-a-mile in length with five named pools: Shochie Mouth, Big Stone, Eddys, Boat Hole and the Willow Tree. The mouth of the Shochie and Ordie burns come in at the top of the beat making an attractive stopping off point for passing salmon and sea trout, especially in the Autumn.
The beat fishes four rods and has one boat and a fishing hut by the river. The beat makes for good fly and spin fishing from both bank and boat.
September and October can be very productive with sizable salmon in high teens to twenties being caught from both bank and boat.
Spring Fishing
During the period January to April, fishing is from either bank. A ghillie and boat is not available.
Spring permits allow you to fish on one day per week from the 15th January to the 30th April.
Summer Fishing
During the months of May, June and July, day lets are available without a ghillie and boat.
Summer permits are available from May to the end of July (84 days).
During the period May to the end of June fishing on Luncarty is bank only.
Autumn Fishing
Daily lets are available with a ghillie and boat. Weekly bookings are available and the beat can be paired with Catholes Stanley for a consecutive day booking. This autumn, bank only rods (without a ghillie) will be available on an experimental basis.
