Overview

As salmon make their way through Islamouth, the River Tay's most prolific salmon fishing beat and into the Isla the first feature to meet the migratory bars of silver and providing a natural, oxygenated stopping and resting point is the Coupar Burn. Entering the Isla on its left bank the burn forms the Hallhole and Coupar Burn Streams providing long, cascading runs that hold fish throughout their length and throughout the season as fish move through the Isla.

Rarely fished for generations and with five long, distinct stretches of fast flowing water, the left bank of the Keithick Streams provides much the better opportunities to cover the fish with the fly whilst offering outstanding value for money.

With good access to the water its gravelly bottom can be easily waded along its length but is just as easily fished from the bank.

As well as having perfect fly fishing pools the beat is lined with mature trees in an idyllic and stunning landscape where the Keithick Streams beat extends on the left bank from just below the Coupar Burn to above the Lunan Burn. This mile stretch in between the two burns provides by far the most outstanding stretch of fly water, with associated deeper holding pools on the river giving you the very best chance of an Atlantic salmon on the fly.

Why you need to fish here

Keithick Fishings is proud to announce a new and exciting opportunity to fish the Keithick Streams. Celebrated locally as the ‘finest’ fly water on the River Isla and located approximately 1 ½ miles from the confluence with the River Tay the ‘streams’ sit between the Lunan Burn and the Coupar Burn, two important tributaries and spawning grounds for migratory fish.
