Delfur offers fishing over approximately 2.5 miles of prime double bank fishing on the Lower Spey. The beat is about a mile north of the town of Rothes and some 10 miles from the mouth of the river.
The beat is well known as one of the most productive yet under-fished beats of the river with 11 named pools being fished by five rods. The pools vary in depth from several feet to over thirty feet deep providing excellent fishing all season. Well maintained tracks provide access to each pool and in most pools there are paths along the banks. The beat is not suitable for disabled anglers due to the uneven banks.
Four full time ghillies are provided to assist rods where required. Although in most instances anglers will find the wading easy, each pool has a traditional cobble boat to allow fishing parties to cross over pools or indeed to fish them.
The beat has consistently proved to be one of the top beats on the Spey and annually the beat produces about 10% of the catch of the entire river.
Booking is through the managing agent only. The beat is let on a weekly basis for five rods and single rods are not normally available.
