This lovely beat offers superb fly water in idyllic surrounds in the heart of Speyside. The beat operates in conjunction with Laggan on the opposite bank. In order to ensure privacy there is an inter-beat agreement , which divides the beat into two double bank beats, which are fished on alternate days. The fishing is often referred to as Carron & Laggan. With 17 named pools over 2,5 miles there is plenty of fishing for the 5 rods that fish Carron. Varied pools, ideal flyfishing water and all along one of the most tranquil and peaceful beats the river has to offer. A well equipped and cosy riverside hut just below Carron Bridge awaits. Perfect for riverside lunches. It has a kitchen, dining area as well as ablutions and a wading room at the back. The Ghillie Ian Borthwick has been on the beat for 41 years!! Certainly amongst a handfull of ghillies on the river with so much experience. Ian will look after and organize the rods during your week, and ensure all are well looked after.
