Afton Reservoir, 5 miles from New Cumnock near the source of the River Nith, is a large still water of approximately 100 acres managed by New Cumnock Angling Association. It has both Wild and regularly stocked Brown Trout.
It is a good fly water, mostly tradional, but worm and spinning are permitted. Wading only.
The Club also offers fishing on four rivers (Nith, Deuch, Ken and Afton) and on Creoch Loch.
