Overview

In the heart of scenic Glengarry, Tomdoun and East Glenquoich Estate offers exclusive fishing on the upper River Garry, famed for trout and salmon. The Estate includes four distinct beats, each offering varied water in a traditional Highland setting.

Poulary Beat features four main pools, with additional runs and pots. The fly works well here, and spinning is permitted in high water. Chest waders are a must due to variable depths.

Tomdoun Beat is best suited to the big salmon rod. It features four main pools, including Garrygulach – the final pool before the river flows into Loch Garry.

Geargarry Beat offers double-bank fishing on the headwaters of the River Garry. A stream with long pools, fast runs, turns, and pots – ideal for those who enjoy a more active style of fishing.

Kingie is home to the renowned Kingie Pool, a stretch that offers a classic Highland fishing experience and the opportunity to fish one of the river’s most iconic pools.

All beats are fishable with a permit. The fishings are featured in Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing (Series 5) – available on BBC iPlayer.

Why you need to fish here

A remote, wild fishery steeped in history and character, with quiet surroundings and a rich variety of pools suited to both traditional and modern methods.

Why not try?
Private boat loch fishing accessible on three lochs: Loch Quoich, Loch Loyne & Loch Garry. Expert guidance by the Estate Gillie ensures anglers make the most of these often unfished lochs. Exceptional pike await in Loch Loyne with the dramatic Quoich famous for ferox trout.

Sea fishing from Kinloch Hourn spectacular waters await beyond the remote Knoydart peninsula. Jig for pollock, spurdog, salmon, rays, cod and mackerel in the rich coastal waters between the west coast and Isle of Skye.
