Glendoe Estate - River Oich

Glendoe Estate is the proprietor of North bank River Oich on the Ness system, known for its early run Spring Salmon.  Glendoe Estate covers approx. 3.5 miles of North bank fishing from the estuary of Loch Ness upstream. 

The season commences on January 15th, until September 30th. The beat offers a realistic chance of a January springer as the fish head upstream towards the River Garry, with the prime months generally being March - May for spring fishing. However, the beat can still produce fish through the summer during the grilse run, and September as the fish move upstream towards the headwaters. The beat has 10 noted pools, with a mixture of classic streamy fly fishing pools, and deep gluides that hold fish throughout the season. 

Ideally anglers should have a 13-15ft rod to comfortably cover the water, with flies such as monkeys, willie gunns or cascades being popular a choice.

The pools have comfortable wading, with access to the pools provided by a forestry track along the length of the beat, with a short walk to the pools required.

Due to upstream hydropower schemes the river Oich water levels are hydro operation dependant.
