The Fishings are reached via a single track public road leading from the A9, there is no access down the rough track and parking can be used at the road end.
The river at this point offers a variety of fishing, and is very different to the type of fishing that you find in the gorge downstream.
The pools are longer and flatter, as is the land around the river. The pools are more typical of a Salmon River with a clear start and end points. The fishing really start from June onwards, but spring fish can be caught earlier in the season. The river does need a lift in level to bring the fish out of the gorge and into this flatter section of the river.
When fishing the pools keep your distance and do not wade too far as the fish are easily spooked.
Summer lines and small flies are the norm for this beat, but if the river is running coloured then adding some brightness to your fly may help.
