Water from five lochs in the Badanloch Forest flow southeast into Loch Achnamoine. .
From Kinbrace the Helmsdale flows for 20 miles through the heather clad moors and woodlands of Strath Kildonan to enter tidal waters at Helmsdale.
There are two substantial rivers flowing into the Helmsdale, more than small burns, being the Craggie and The Friadh.
When the loch is full it holds enough water to keep the river at a reasonable height for 90 days for angling.
This is an invaluable asset in dry summers.
Spring fish can be in the river on opening day. Runs of fish slowly increase during February and March rising to a peak in May.
Grilse and summer fish enter the river in late June/early July and the runs of fish continue into November, although the angling season closes with September.
For the 2016 season we have fishing on the Suisgill Beat. NOW LET.
