The Sluie beat is situated half a mile downstream of the Potarch Bridge and 4.5 miles west of Banchory.
The beat, which comfortably fishes two rods, is about 1.3 miles on the north bank of the River Dee and has 9 named pools. The beat is easily accessible by car, off the A93 to a secure hut with a wood-burning stove. There is also a WC. The beat is opposite the lower Ballogie and upper Commonty Fishings. The beat offers good opportunities in all heights of water. The wading is relatively easy in most pools or from the bank in high water.
The beat does not have a ghillie but the owner will show new fishermen the water by arrangement.
Fishing is fly only irrespective of the height of the water. No fishing is permitted on Sundays and Sluie endorses the Dee Catch & Release policy of the Dee District Board, a copy is available in the hut.
