NICK'S RUN
A wee burn flows in at the top and the pool starts here, it is tiny but yields good results especially when the grilse start. Lengthen your line as you fish through the pool.
DALVARCH LONG POOL
Longest pool of the beat. Fishes well, especially at top just above and below the bridge. In the middle fish are scarce but the bottom has good lies. Lots of people fish this pool right through with great results.
RACEWALL ST. JOHNS
Just below the big rock. Fishes well at the top and bottom.
The water is thin here but it is very good for sea trout and grilse especially just before and after high tide.
UPPER & LOWER CREWBEG
A long fast water pool, which fishes better when the tide is coming in.
Lies all the way down these two pools but concentrate on the top and bottom of the pools.
UPPER CREWBEG
A small exciting pool about 150 yards above the power station, where it is tidal. Fishes very well just before and after high tide
LOWER CREWBEG
A long fast running pool, again fishes well in the run up to high tide.
Small lies all the way down the pools, with the best lies at the top and bottom of the pools. End of beat is by the power station.
Why you need to fish here
It is the lowest beat of the river and fishes very well just before and after high tide. Easy casting and wading, though waders and wading stick essential.
