East Ranga had an amazing season in 2008, finishing second after West Ranga with 7013 salmon caught. East Ranga is divided into nine beats with two rods on a beat and has a fair rotation system utilising the 22km stretch to the maximum benefit for each angler. This allows plenty of space per rod and a nice variety of marvelous pools. The average weight of salmon is 7-8 lbs.
One guide per two rods is recommended for best coverage of pools, knowledge of the river, appropriate tackle and best fly patterns.
The full service lodge on East Ranga is new and very well equipped. Guests are accommodated in 18 tastefully furnished double rooms with ensuite bathrooms. The lounge, bar and dining room are in the main building. Jacuzzies and saunas provide every angler a relaxing end to a day on the river.
