This weekend the BBC will be airing the Gone Christmas Fishing one hour special on BBC2, (13th December at 20.10). Bob Mortimer returns to his childhood roots in Middlesbrough to fish and reminisce with his dear friend and angling mentor Paul Whitehouse.

Ellie Harrison and Angellica Bell travel to Scotland for the first episode of a Very Country Christmas on BBC1.
Cargill beat introduce Ellie to salmon fishing. Under the guidance of David Godfrey she puts out a lovely line across the river, whilst chatting to him about the history of salmon fishing in Scotland and why people come from across the world to fish the River Tay.

Traquair is one of the most popular upper beats on the river.
Syndicate rods have become available in 2021 for Traquair Beat, Fairnilee Beat and other beats on the river. A day per week or a day per fortnight are available. Please contact Tom via the Help Centre or telephone between 1-2pm on 01573 470612 for more information.
Traquair has two miles of interesting double bank fishing and another mile of single bank, making three miles in all. Much of the water is ideal for first time anglers, but there is plenty to keep the experienced anglers happy too. A single day per week until 13th September is £80 plus vat.
Fairnilee is set within one of the most attractive sections of the river.
Fairnilee enjoys three and a half miles of single bank fishing and around 20 named pools which offer a wide variety of fishing with easy access to most. There is a part time ghillie provided. A single day per week until 5th September is £195 plus vat.
