As the summer unfolds in front of us, there's no better time than to start planning a staycation. Our help desk is busy with enquiries focused around fishing hotspots as well as those wishing to include a fishing experience within their holiday.
From this weekend Scotland's tourism businesses, including pubs, hotels and restaurants are open, along with museums, galleries, cinemas and monuments. In England hotels, bed and breakfasts, self catering accommodation, including bars and restaurants have been open since 4th July.

There were some lovely salmon caught from the Tay system last week with a number of fish weighing well into double figures landed.
It was a red letter day at Newtyle on Monday when five fish were landed including three for Newtyle regular Mr John Amos. They finished the week on ten salmon.
Kercock finished the week on thirteen fish. Robbie (pictured) landed his first salmon at Kercock, which was fresh as paint and fin perfect. It's just great to see the younger generation enjoying our wonderful sport.
The Meikleour & Upper Islamouth Beat opened its banks to anglers this month following the lockdown period. Anglers have enjoyed some great sport with forty fish caught so far. Last week the beat produced eighteen fish.
There was some good sport to be had at Cargill with sixteen fish for the week. Mr Steve Cunroe was one of the lucky anglers who managed to get his rod bent on numerous occasions. Stobhall finished the week on twelve fish. Mr Gordon Wilson had a fantastic few days on the beat landing three big summer salmon.

Lower Birgham Head Boatman Mr Tom Davis reports "Well what a week on the river! From the top of the river through the middle to the very bottom of the river, fish seemed plentiful and fresh and sea trout and we had water. We landed 7 Salmon and 5 sea trout for the week."
Bemersyde Head Ghillie Mr Ian Farr reports "Well, what a week we have had at Bemersyde. First of all, congratulations to every one catching the fish in not the best of conditions for most of the week. We landed 29 salmon and lost about 10. There were also some sea trout around, ending with 9 for the week up to 10 lbs."
Boleside Mr Craig Drever landed 8 fish for his day and his fishing companion Mr Lee Conway landed 3 Sea Trout.

A good run of salmon and grilse and favourable conditions combined to produce a week of good sport with two hundred and sixteen fish reported - read more.
Park had a good week with thirty-five salmon and grilse. The fish were mostly liced and there was a good mix of grilse and salmon. They had a bumper day on Thursday with fifteen landed, including nine for Craig Corbett. Richard Harris also had a great day landing six and Neil Mitchell had five and four of his fish were over 10lb. Andy and Phil Crawford shared four, the best of which was 15lb.
The improved water levels helped Lower Crathes finish the week on thirteen. Crathes Castle had eight, five of which were solid summer salmon, mostly liced. James Simpson had a good day on Thursday, landing three.
