From this weekend Scotland's tourism businesses, including pubs, hotels and restaurants are open, along with museums, galleries, cinemas and monuments. In England hotels, bed and breakfasts, self catering accommodation, including bars and restaurants have been open since 4th July.

Robbie with his first salmon caught on Kercock Beat.

There were some lovely salmon caught from the Tay system last week with a number of fish weighing well into double figures landed.

It was a red letter day at Newtyle on Monday when five fish were landed including three for Newtyle regular Mr John Amos. They finished the week on ten salmon.

Kercock finished the week on thirteen fish. Robbie (pictured) landed his first salmon at Kercock, which was fresh as paint and fin perfect. It's just great to see the younger generation enjoying our wonderful sport.

The Meikleour & Upper Islamouth Beat opened its banks to anglers this month following the lockdown period. Anglers have enjoyed some great sport with forty fish caught so far. Last week the beat produced eighteen fish.

There was some good sport to be had at Cargill with sixteen fish for the week. Mr Steve Cunroe was one of the lucky anglers who managed to get his rod bent on numerous occasions. Stobhall finished the week on twelve fish. Mr Gordon Wilson had a fantastic few days on the beat landing three big summer salmon.

Meikleour Arms have had a cancellation for their 3 bed serviced cottage Roselea in the village. You will check in on the 27th of July for a week. Call 01250 883206 or contact@meikleourarms.co.uk for more details.

Neil Mitchell with a lovey fish from Park.

A good run of salmon and grilse and favourable conditions combined to produce a week of good sport with two hundred and sixteen fish reported - read more.

Park had a good week with thirty-five salmon and grilse. The fish were mostly liced and there was a good mix of grilse and salmon. They had a bumper day on Thursday with fifteen landed, including nine for Craig Corbett. Richard Harris also had a great day landing six and Neil Mitchell had five and four of his fish were over 10lb. Andy and Phil Crawford shared four, the best of which was 15lb.

The improved water levels helped Lower Crathes finish the week on thirteen. Crathes Castle had eight, five of which were solid summer salmon, mostly liced. James Simpson had a good day on Thursday, landing three.

Check out the availability for the week ahead. There is some lovely fishing on offer throughout July and August.

One of eight fish caught last week on Dryburgh Upper River Tweed.

Catches and reports from up and down the country are all really positive with tales of rivers full of fish and some monsters caught and indeed lost. I am already planning my next day out and can't wait to get back on the river - read more.

The availability on some rivers is literally drying up as bookings continue to be solid for the next few months, so please don't leave your final decisions too long on where you would like to go and fish, as you just might miss out on your first choice of fishing - read more.

Our new Help Centre is now live and lots of people are using it to get frequently asked questions answered or are using the messaging facility to get help as required. Here is the link to the page which now also offers live chat in the mornings through the week if you need to speak to us.

I do hope many of you are venturing out this week - conditions across the country are looking pretty favourable and will certainly mean lots of anglers out and about doing what we all love the most - gone fishing?

Tight lines everyone
