The Ballygarret beat at Blackwater Valley Fishery is set in a wonderfully picturesque location on the middle Blackwater River. The fishery covers extensive areas throughout Counties Cork and Waterford. It offers a complete service to all those who enjoy fishing, catering for all their needs and ensuring they can enjoy all of the amenities safely. Should anglers require it, there is a fully qualified guide and casting instructor available to accompany them while on the fishery.

The Ballygarret beat hosts a maximum of 2 anglers, offering peace and space to those lucky enough to fish here. This is a mid-river beat, located on the south bank of the River Blackwater between Killavullen and Mallow, in Co. Cork. The Ballygarret stretch consists of two pools with a lovely fly run throughout. The river runs into a nice deep pool that holds a good head of fish and fishes very well in mid to high water. There is another good fly run at the top of the beat. There are a number of very good taking spots on this beat. Suitable for both spinning and fly fishing.

The Blackwater Valley Fishery operates primarily on privately owned beats covering both the mid and lower reaches of the River Blackwater. In addition to their own beats, Blackwater Valley partners with a number of nearby fisheries along the River Blackwater allowing access to greater variety and options if conditions are not ideal on a particular beat. The fishery is part of an officially designated Special Area of Conservation, as such angler numbers are carefully controled and emphasis is placed on ensure that fish stocks are preserved at all times.

Ballyduff is approximately 9.8 kilometres (6 mi) west of Lismore, County Waterford and 17 kilometres (10 mi) east of Fermoy, County Cork. The village is located on the River Blackwater, which is spanned by the late 19th century Ballyduff Bridge. Bus routes which serve the area include Local Link Waterford services on certain days. The nearest airport is Waterford Airport. Other airports near Waterford include Cork, Shannon, Dublin, and Kerry.
