Fishing regulations

1. Any angler aged 12 years or over, fishing for salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eels must have an Environment Agency rod licence. Money from the sale of licences helps to fund work managing fisheries. If you are caught fishing without one, you are cheating other anglers and could be fined up to £2,500.

2. Seasons are:

Salmon: February 1st to October 31st. inclusive, including Sundays. All Salmon caught prior to June 16th. must be returned.

Sea Trout: April 3rd to October 31st inclusive.

Brown Trout: March 22nd to September 30th inclusive.

Grayling and other Coarse Fish: June 16th to March 14th inclusive.


Beat conditions

Individual owners will also have their own individual conditions, such as the hours that fishing is allowed on that beat, what ghillies are provided (if any) and what fishing methods you can use.
